My kindergarten class is from low income community. Most of my students come to school with limited fine and gross motor skills. They often struggle with simple skills like holding a pencil or cutting paper.
We are busy, busy, busy from first bell to last bell, learning all that we can so we are ready for first grade.
My students love learning through song, dance, and fun and engaging activities. The majority of my students come to school not knowing their letters and sounds, are unable to write their names, and need a lot of practice to be successful.
The materials I am requesting will not only help fine motor development but enhance academic learning in math and language arts. My students will use the hole punches to develop fine motor skills to complete math projects. During center time, students will be given hole punches and a given number to model addition and subtraction problems, counting, and sorting activities.
My students will be fully engage with fun math activities while learning important key skills.
The Playdoh will enhance small motor skills through rolling and cutting and pressing activities. They can model quantity, size, addition and subtraction problem. Having these materials will greatly enhance the learning abilities and the fine and gross motor skills of my students.
