Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have recently joined the kindergarten team at a low income school where I have 21 students. The students have diverse backgrounds and have a wide range of ability levels. It is my mission to make their learning environment as magical and cozy as possible.
Kindergartners are a bundle of energy, full of life and excitement, and it is an honor to be their first teacher.
I take pride in my ability to instill a love of learning to them and create a strong foundation for their educational career.
Every child learns differently and at their own pace. Creating an environment that allows for meaningful activities will help each child to reach their own potential as well as help them be successful.
My Project
On a daily basis, my students do various activities on the computer and iPad that requires them to use headphones. Each of my students need a pair of headphones that works that they can use when doing these activities.
My students do math activities, literacy centers, they listen to stories being read to them, and take various assessments on electronic devices daily.
The headphones will help my students to be able to focus on the specific activity that they are working on. It will also eliminate some of the distractions that occur when programs are being used on numerous devices without headphones that work correctly. My students will feel a sense of ownership when they have their own pair of headphones that they don't have to share with anyone else.
I am excited to see the results of the assessments that my students take once they have new headphones that work correctly.
