My Students

My students here at KMS are active and like to have fun! I am the Physical Education teacher and I love nothing more than seeing my students moving and laughing. They do a lot of that in our 46 minute classes. We are located in northeast so we are cooped up most of the year. I have found that I get more movement out of them if there is music playing. With childhood obesity on the rise I need to do my part to combat this!

My Project

Today's generation loves music in physical education! I notice a big difference in my students level of participation with music versus without music. Our old radio is broken and my students keep asking me when we are going to get a new one. I utilize music on a daily basis. It helps me pump them up and get them excited for the classes activities.

I utilize all types of music depending on the unit of study.

For example: yoga, volleyball, fitness, basketball, games, project adventure, soccer, floor hockey, relay races, even softball and units that are outside on the track which is why a wireless blue tooth would work best.
