My school is a public charter school providing students (learners) in grades 6-8 a hands-on STEAM, aerospace-focused, and project-based curriculum. We are the first school in the nation to be located right at an airport in Englewood, Colorado. Our learners come from all over the Denver area, from Franktown to Aurora to Arvada and beyond. This diversity brings different perspectives to our classrooms. Some of our learners have been homeschooled and some are just looking for a different type of school and have found their home at CSA!
Our learners are creative thinkers and very excited about learning!
Our curriculum focuses on core academic competencies, in addition to key focus areas that will prepare learners for promising careers in aerospace and technology. I will be team teaching with the science teacher to provide this PE elective in addition to teaching Exploratory/STEAM.
My Project
With COVID 19, we will need more PE equipment and a quick easy way to inflate the items we use for PE.
Pump it up is a fun thing to say, especially in middle school with music!
Our learners only have electives two days a week so we want to maximize their time learning new skills in basketball, volleyball, soccer, and football. They love to help inflate equipment and keep everything organized. We even have leaders that will run each station during PE class, for football drills and basketball tips.
This quick inflating pump and inflating needles will allow us to quickly inflate our PE equipment from another project as well as keep them at the right pressure once inflated. With Colorado weather, balls often deflate easily and a hand pump is not as quick as this to get back out being active during PE. The snacks provide a little bit of fuel to keep them active! Middle schoolers are growing quickly and often need snacks to keep them going a few more hours.
Thank you for fueling my athletes as well as providing a way for them to inflate equipment quickly to get back out being active again!
