My energetic, fun loving group of students come from an environment that may not always be conducive to their well being. It is my hope to be able to acquire equipment that provides them with the opportunity to be introduced to different sports and activities. With the introduction to these different sports, I hope that they can take the knowledge gained in my classroom and be able to use it to possibly open doors that they were unaware of. If nothing else, my goal is to create a safe and fun environment for my students, while promoting lifelong fitness and healthy habits.
My Project
Tug-of-War is a school favorite during our Field Day activities.
My students love the class versus class competition and the bragging rights that come with being victorious.
In addition, my 4th and 5th grade students also use the Tug-of-War rope to compete head to head to help decide individual class champions. The class champions are then selected to represent our school during the Tug-of-War event of our All-City Track Meet.
It is without question my students love Tug-of-War. Our Tug-of-War rope however, has seen better days. Being able to provide my students with a new Tug-of-War rope would help ensure that our time honored traditions can continue!
