My students need a place to work independently and in pairs at academic work stations. Six bar stools will allow my students to sit along the back shelf in my classroom as they learn in stations.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Today's classrooms are made up of very diverse learners. My middle school classroom is no exception.
Just minutes away from the border of Mexico in deep South Texas, our school has a very large limited English population.
Because of our school's proximity to the border, our school demographics include several linguistic challenges as families make their homes in our community in order to work in the maquiladoras (factories in Mexico) located just across the border.
My 8th grade ELA classroom includes students who are advanced learners, English Language Learners (or ELLs) and Inclusion students (or students who fall under the special education spectrum). Our needs are vast, and every unique student requires differentiated instruction.
My Project
Academic work stations are a tried and true way to engage students and differentiate their learning, but space in a middle school classroom can make classroom work stations difficult to provide. I have to be resourceful. Using my back shelf, I can provide 3 literacy stations: poetry, writing and word-work, but I need your help!
Work stations are designated areas in the classroom where students work alone or with a partner using instructional materials to explore, practice, and expand their learning.
In addition, work stations can provide an opportunity for students to develop mastery of different objectives while allowing for me to differentiate for students with various instructional levels, interests, or learning styles.
Utilizing the shelf which runs along the length of the back of my classroom, I can create 3 literacy work stations for student independent and small group learning. My students just need a place to sit as they work. Your donation helps to pay for 6 bars stools where students can sit comfortably as they work in their stations.
With your help my students will be able to literally, pull up a seat and learn!
