This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello! I am a first grade teacher at P.S. 70 in the Bronx. This is a school where over 90% of our students come from low-income households and very few are able to receive the extracurricular activities you might find elsewhere. This year, I will be teaching an after school baking class to give children an opportunity to bake from scratch (which many adults no longer even do!). We will learn about the origins of many recipes, what parts ingredients play in the process, how to properly measure ingredients and best of all EAT our finished products. I am asking for 30 binders to use as our recipe books. I want the students to have a collection of recipes that they can refer to in their future. We will also need some binder protection sheets to keep our recipes neat and clean while we bake away. Please help us stay organized and preserve our recipes as real cookbooks that can be shared with our families!
