I teach 7th grade math and science at a low-income public charter school. We serve 150 students in grade 6-8 through project-based learning that is created to meet the needs of all students.
Most schools have libraries for students to access different books on a variety of topics! Unfortunately at our school we do not have a school library so accessing nonfiction books while in school is very difficult for students.
My students need a series of different books on natural disasters in order to conduct research. In order for students to learn more about weather and climate my students will be creating public service announcements about natural disasters that will be videotaped and viewed by students and families.
By donating to my project you will make it possible for my students to access nonfiction books while completing a hands on project to meet their interests.
