My students need modeling clay, tacky glue, cardboard paper and labeling toothpicks for hands-on activities. A major topic in the course is understanding human development as it pertains to behavior.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I consider myself a fortunate teacher because my students share an interest in exploring the many topics of psychology.
Our urban high school consists of students who come from a low socioeconomic background.
Over eighty percent of our students participate in free or reduce lunch program.
Foundations of Human Behavior is a rigorous course where students must conduct a research study and write a detailed research paper. These students can earn college credits as they explore the science behind human thought and behavior, in addition to exploring their own behavior, thoughts, and role in the world.
My students are extremely hardworking and dedicated to achieving academic success and are motivated by the desire to be the first generation to earn college credit. Many of them face outside challenges that make it hard to reach their full potential. In spite of these challenges, they continue to work hard and achieve their academic goals.
My Project
Students often have difficulty with human anatomy, its function and its relation to human behaviors. With the use of Crayola Modeling Clay students will have the opportunity to create hands-on models of these difficult concepts and structures. These models will then be glued to cardboard and descriptive labels will be inserted with toothpicks. Students' models will be displayed throughout our school to educate the entire school population.
By donating to our project not only will student engagement be increased in the Psychology class but the entire student body will benefit, as the projects will be displayed throughout the school building.
The colorful projects will not only provide all students with important fundamental human information but will create an inviting and aesthetically pleasing environment throughout our school.
