My Students

As a School Counselor in an inner city district with a transient population and "40" different languages/dialects spoken, it is not only a challenge to address the students' college/career needs but it is also a delight to see the smiles on their face when you have an instrumental part in making their dreams come true.

Students are eager to learn and in today's world are more concerned about their future than I have witnessed in 15 years.

These high school students are eager to learn about the world around them and explore the many options they know are available to them in the 21st century.

My Project

Many of my students lack the necessary resources to explore opportunities which will foster their growth as "future leaders". With the availability of Chromebooks, students will have the ability to visit college campuses via virtual tours, explore their options, apply for scholarships and financial aid. Personal visits to college campuses is an economic hardship for many of my students.

By providing chrome books, students will have equity and access to support their learning and growth of post secondary options.

Our future leaders are eager to explore their options and increase their knowledge.

With technology, not only will the students become more engaged, but as their School Counselor, my role increases as their supporter and adviser...what could be more rewarding!
