Providing Healthy Outlets in an Uncertain World

Help me give my students Battle of the Book books to prepare them for our school level battle. Help provide art supplies and PE/Recess equipment. These supplies will allow my students a healthy distraction.

My Students

The kids I teach are exactly that, good and smart, and they deserve the tools needed to succeed.

They are curious learners. They come from various backgrounds, with different life experiences. Every day they come to school eager to learn. Every student has a unique outlook on life. Each morning is a new experience as we face the world together.

My Project

This school year has been a roller coaster of uncertainty. Students are excited to be in school and enjoy the interaction between peers. I have a great class that is eager to learn and they try their best each day.

My students have grown a lot this year, however I have noticed they are missing an outlet for their emotions and anxiousness surrounding the covid world they must navigate.

For this reason, I am requesting various supplies to help provide ways for them to enjoy school and find a way to calm their souls and minds.

At our school we participate in Battle of the Books. This is a great program to encourage reading and reading comprehension. I have requested a copy of each of the books for the 3rd/4th grade list. This will help my students prepare for their battles. Battle of the Books will be a great outlet for them.

Another outlet my students need and love is to create art. They love to draw in their free time and also follow along with ArtHub videos to create fun characters and learn techniques to create their own. I have requested colored pencils, sketchbooks, and erasers for my students to have access to their own supples in order to wind down after a quick-paced day of learning. They also need headphones to listen to the videos.

I am also requesting PE/Recess equipment so that my amazing class can use the fresh air and activity to release the stress that I am seeing in so many of my students.
