Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During these difficult times, several of my students encountered severe trauma. Most of my students are from low-income families and have dealt with death and higher expectations/ responsibilities. Sadly, their home might feel more of a prison than a haven. Many students during this time had to care for younger siblings as parents had no choice to head out to work and be able to feed their families.

The project will allow students to have a place that feels like home.

The fluorescent covers, as well as the lights, will allow students to have a calm environment. In addition to that, flexible seating will be available in comfortable chairs where learning will take place such as reading or group work. One of the greatest tools will be the microphone as well as the teaching clicker to get students up to speed after losing two years of instruction. In the classroom, the microphone allows students to hear everything clear especially students that are learning English. In fact, the clicker will allow me to assist more students by being able to walk around instead of going back in forth to my computer. My class will be a peaceful place where students will become a community due to the tranquil environment that will be built.
