Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What I love about my group of students is how much they have embraced a growth mindset when learning. They don't give up when they fail at something, and they understand that nothing is "easy".
They work so hard and have learned that making mistakes is how their brains grow!
I want them to keep having this awesome mindset for years to come. They will be unstoppable this way!
My Project
Since I am a first-year teacher, I did not have many books for my students coming into the classroom. I relied on donations and second-hand books, but many of them were coming apart and were not quality books.
Having these awesome read-aloud books for my students will foster their already existing love for reading and help it grow as well!
I plan to use these books as anchor texts to teach them different things such as the power of "Yet", having a safe and loving classroom family, and of course making it fun during our different holidays in the year.
