My students need to know I am prozud of their hard work; with bulletin board strips I will be able to disply student work up on walls that are not cooperative when hanging student work.

My Students

Sixty percent of the students at my school come from homes below the poverty line. Many of the students in the school receive free and reduced lunch and all students receive free breakfast. They are excited to learn and crave the opportunity to be challenged and rise to that challenge.

My students come to school wanting to learn and work their hardest but we do not always have the materials to allow them to explore and grow to their potential.

These students deserve to have access to the same materials and rigorous activities that their peers in other areas have.

My Project

Bulletin Strips will allow for the display of student work. Students work hard every day and should have a sense of pride in their work. Currently there is no way to display student work in the classroom due to the brick walls. We have a large classroom and we hope to make the blank walls more conducive to middle school development and social learning.

My classroom is shared between two teachers, 190 students, three grade levels, and three content areas, these strips wil ll help students know that the classroom is home.

Students who feel a sense of security and pride produce better work and are more willing to take the risks necessary to grow and develop as critical thinkers and independent learners.
