This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is full of hard-working students who are eager to learn! Many of them are coming to me without any prior classroom experience; yet, they work hard and exceed my expectations daily. I am fortunate to be part of a school community that, without hesitation, goes above and beyond the call of duty to meet the individual needs of the families we serve. We do whatever it takes to provide them with the support they need in order to be successful.
My Project
These book bins will provide durable storage for my students to help us house all of our classroom library books. It will allow students to easily access the books we have available, and we will be able to properly store them so that they are not ruined during the school year.
We currently use bins that are very similar as individual book boxes and I am certain these bins would make a great addition to our classroom library!
The book bins that we currently have for our classroom library are not wide enough to hold many books, so we are only able to get out books that contain subjects we are currently learning about. While that is nice, because our selection is always rotating, it makes it difficult for my students to enjoy all of the books that are available and familiar to them. These book bins would allow us to have access to the majority of our books for the entire school year, not just a few months at a time.
