Help me give my students the ability to explore their world on winter days with warm gear so they don't have to stay inside for recess.

Do you remember kindergarten as a place you were excited to go to each day? Did your teacher great you each day with a smile and laughter in her/his eyes? I strive to make a true difference in my students lives one smile, one hug, one day at a time.
Creating a strong community is essential to my students' feeling comfortable in taking risks, allowing for plenty of mistakes, and giving them a safe place to explore the world around them.
It warms my heart to hear them encourage each other when things don't go as expected and comfort each other when tears of frustration happen. Kindergarten is hard work!
Over 90% of my students come to my classroom from families that are below the poverty line. No matter the obstacles they face outside my classroom, they strive each day to begin again and are truly my inspiration. I am so blessed each day to have another day to inspire them to do more and be more than they ever thought they could.
All students want to explore and move during recess but sometimes financial obstacles get in the way. Too often, my students don't have the basic winter gloves, hats, and scarves they need to engage with the natural world around them.I want to see all of my students have the benefits of playing in nature each and every day that they possibility can during our long winter months.
After breathing in fresh air and getting their wiggles out, my students are more ready to focus and perform better in the classroom.
With them more focused, I am better able to exercise their brains AFTER they use their bodies.
