My Project

My third graders LOVE art! I mean LOVE it! I save it for the day when we are together all day long without a break. That used to be such a long day before it became our beloved art day! Now, kids are on their very best behavior thanks to creation time! We study an artist by learning about their life, their style of art and then try to come up with something that mirrors it just a bit!

It is true that some kids think art is the very best part of school!

Because of that I work hard to get my hands on great books about interesting artists and wonderful art supplies! Through others' generosity we have been blessed with both of those things! What we need next is a drying rack that is in the classroom! For many many years we have painted great things and then laid them on a sheet in the hallway to dry. It works, but I know there's a better way to keep the kids' art safe from little feet and help it to dry a little quicker....with a drying rack!

At the year's end, I gather up all student work and create student books for them to be able to look back on third grade and those books include their art! This art drying rack is big enough to do really big pieces or smaller ones. It would be the missing piece of our art puzzle!
