My Students
Storytelling is so much fun and a great way for my students to build their communication skills.
Stories can come to life with the help of felt characters and puppets that provide hands-on learning and promote movement.
Students need time to build their communication skills, and storytelling is an important part of achieving this. My students love to tell stories but have a hard time writing about their experiences because they are so young. Storytelling can be done through so many other means though. By orally telling stories students are building essential skills that are vital to their success later in life. Providing them with materials that will help them orally tell stories will make their learning so much more meaningful.

My students have so much they want to share with us. Providing time and a venue for storytelling is essential for their success.
Storytelling is a great way to unleash children's creativity.
Children have some very creative minds but often their stories go untold. There is no time built into our day for this type of work, but I want to change that. I feel students learn best when cooperating with each other. Their oral and social skills seem more advanced when given opportunities to talk to each other. Efficient and effective communication skills are necessary in our world today.
