Propelling Into Project Based Learning!

My Students
My students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a third grade class at a public school located in a small town in northern Minnesota. We have a large percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. The high level of poverty in our community results in many students facing hardships outside of school.
Regardless of background, my students have a desire to learn! My students are all different and they deserve to learn in a way that works for them. It would be great to provide them with the best opportunity to learn while in the classroom.
My Project
I have been using project based learning in some of my lessons this year and the response has been very positive. I would like to continue with these inquiry and hands-on projects so I am asking for general supplies like paper, markers, tag board, tape, paper shelves and other supplies that can be used for hands-on projects. I am also asking for a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to be able to purchase resources that work with the lessons and projects that we are doing.
Parents have told me how much their kids have enjoyed the hands-on projects we have done. This feedback has encouraged me to continue with these type of projects. Our next project will include making items for members in our community to thank them for their service.
