Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Wellness is something that is taken so seriously, not only here at our school, but in our classroom. Frequently, creative writing students do wellness check-ins with each other and with me, in order to promote an environment that is both welcoming and emotionally fostering.

With the requested items, we will take the wellness checks in this classroom one step further.

I plan to utilize the requested items to enforce a wellness recommendation system. Students will spend the month nominating individuals that lift each other up, as well as privately nominating those who require additional pick-me-ups. A ceremony will be held awarding those who lift others up in this classroom and create an environment all feel welcome and appreciated in. For those going through a rough patch, they will be privately awarded by the individual who nominated them, with a personal letter detailing how the recipient is a bright life in and out of the classroom, as a form of a pick-me-up.
