My Students
One word that describes the students in my school is diverse. They all come from diverse background which makes them all unique individuals.
Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. At my school, we offer 100% free breakfast, lunch and snacks.
My Project
One of our goals in our school is to promote racial equity and inclusion. These books will be used as supplemental texts students can relate to and provide positive contexts for people of color. All of these books connect to essential questions in our reading series and will provide additional viewpoints and reading skills practice.
Currently, our school will be 100% virtual for at least the first quarter. These books will be read aloud to supplement the texts in the reading series and excerpts will be used as teaching points to hone in on reading comprehension skills.
