My school is a very diverse school. It is also a Title I school, which means students lack some resources that others take for granted. A typical day in my classroom is very busy! The class is always working on various assignments while I move around the room and help them when needed. They are constantly learning and growing in every subject area and I know they will only keep improving!
The students deserve an opportunity to come to school and have a place that says, "We want you here and we want you to be happy!"
The classroom needs to be an inviting place. People learn when they feel welcomed and appreciated. The classroom is a place to inspire all professions; yet, public education is expected to do more with less every school year.
Also, teaching students who will have jobs that might not exist yet, is a challenge. I work with many eager students who need a learning space that is fun and also supportive.
My Project
These items for this project will help us celebrate positive behavior and include tools to keep students on track.
Our 5th grader students love doing work in sharpies.
This small and simple office product will provide a high interest in maintaining positive behaviors within our 30 person classroom.
Headphones will allow children to work individually in class. This will help the noise level to be kept at a manageable level.
Snacks will given out as prizes for children who clearly do their very best on a daily basis.
Timers and more pencil sharpeners will be great tools to help us stay on track and use our learning time wisely.
