Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are always excited and eager to learn new things. Our classroom consists of a diverse group of students from typical students to those with learning disabilities. Most students don’t have access to technology at home, so a lot of them are only exposed to technology when they’re in school. I have an inquisitive group of students, who are always eager to work with technology.

They attend a Title I school where they all qualify for free breakfast and lunch.

The majority of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My Project

The material from PowerMyLearning will make a difference in students' learning because it will put them in the position of being able to show what they are learning in class on a daily basis. The PowerMyLearning Interactive literacy environment will also equip students with the resources necessary to make more impactful connections between experiencing learning on a level that specifically targets transferring and applying knowledge between the platforms of school and home. The learning process as guided through PowerMyLearning, will also additionally build students' learning outcomes into a place of certain mastery, so that they can ultimately become the teacher.
