My students need headphones to use with their iPads to have access to an online classroom library of books with the option for audio for those struggling readers.

My wonderful students come to school everyday looking for a fun, engaging and safe place to learn. We are a Title One school that was awarded a 1:1 iPad grant. We are using the iPads to help bridge the gap in our students and help them develop much need skills to succeed.
My students absolutely love creating and exploring the world through their iPads as many have not traveled outside of our area.
My students enjoy learning and being given the opportunity to have new experiences. They are hungry for knowledge and desperately looking for someone who cares about them. As their teacher, it is my job to not only teach them but to provide as best as I can for their needs.
I have a classroom of struggling readers who are eager to learn and become better readers. Recently, I took several classes to learn new strategies to help my struggling readers. Every class I took talked about providing students with opportunities for differentiation and audio as an assistance.
Students need to hear appropriate modeling of reading to get better.
This is where the headphones will come in. Students need the headphones so they can read with audio and take assessments with audio to help assist them as they become better readers. It will also help cut down on the noise level in the room so that I can work with a small group of students while the others are completing other small group activities such as reading, researching and applications that are all educationally appropriate and researched based to promote growth in reading.
