Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in grades 4-8, and are very excited to participate in our school's drama program! We are a bare-bones operation, on a shoestring budget.
Each and every one of these students works very hard to make our program a success.
These kids are responsible for many aspects of production, including set design, lighting, sound, as well as acting. They are a determined and talented group of young people, and I am proud to guide them on this journey.
My Project
Our school is a Gold Ribbon, Title I, elementary school, with a great group of talented students. This year we have launched our first Drama Program. Our aim in Drama is to provide students an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of theatre, while gaining confidence and skills to excel today, and beyond.
The supplies we are requesting will be used for set design.
Specifically, our students will be using these supplies to construct stage flats (frames for hanging scenery), and to create painted and digital backdrops for our theatrical debut of Matilda. We also need a video projector. With your help, we can make their vision a reality!
