Projector Needed! Please Help!

My students need a projector.

My Students

My students love to learn. They usually require a hands on approach to learning, and would benefit greatly from technology. They are currently a grade behind in reading and math due to varying learning and developmental disabilities. Our goal is to rise above grade level.

My students come from an extremely poor section of the Bronx, where 100% of our school receives free or reduced breakfast and lunch.

They are very limited in their experiences and exposure to various forms of technology. My students suffer from learning disabilities, autism, and various other disorders and yet they always seem eager to learn. With their seemingly never ending disadvantages, they continue to pursue their interests and try their best. Our school is limited in resources and technology. I am looking for ways to bring technology into our classroom and this interactive whiteboard would be perfect to reach the entire class.

My Project

The projector will be used in conjunction with an interactive whiteboard. It provides the students with sensory input, and allows for students to get up, move around, and interact with the content they are learning. Since they are behind a year in reading level, this projector will allow us to to do various word study lessons, phonics lessons, and phonics games. The students can drag and drop letters, sort and match pictures to words, and color code words to build sentences. For math, the numbers can also be color coded and move around as well. This projector help bring the Internet and world right to our classrooms in a visually appealing way that the entire class can see, use, and appreciate. This technology will help my students academically, socially, and developmentally.

Donations for this project will improve the classroom vastly. The varying levels of phonics and math activities that can be achieved on this interactive whiteboard would help enormously in achieving their goals of rising above grade level.

This interactive board would provide sensory input, can be used as behavioral modification, and allow my students to interact with the content they are learning.
