My Students

Imagine yourself sitting in the 4th grade, heart pounding, sweat beads forming on your forehead as your turn to read aloud is approaching. The student next to you reads fluently and full of life. It is a struggle for you to sound out the words much less be able to comprehend the small passage.

I teach in a resource setting where children come with a variety of different educational needs.

Students may come to my classroom who need extra assistance in reading, writing, or mathematics. Many times, children are in need of a the same concepts taught in a different approach rather than the original stand and deliver teaching styles. The students that come to the resource room are some of the hardest working students in the school. These students work as hard as the possibly can in the classroom and simply need an extra boost of encouragement and small group instruction in order to work to their fullest potential.

My Project

This technology will be something students will definitely be acquainted with and since it is so popular with the school age population, I think they will be able to gain much more from their lessons. With this pocket project the class will be able to view endless possibilities. Students will be able to utilize whole group activities that do not single children out who do not know a certain multiplication fact or simply cannot sound out a word. The class will be able to build upon what they know by utilizing flashcard puzzles, interactive books with captivating graphics, and view live pod-casts such as a panda cub born at the San Diego Zoo. Students live in an entirely new generation as far as what students respond to and are interested in. The projector bring excitement back to the classroom and allows students to learn with endless opportunities.

The ultimate goal of the pocket projector is to improve students academic achievement through the effective use of technology in schools.

Anytime you introduce technology you create interest, and you cross a milestone that was once thought to be impossible. The projector will provide opportunities for students that do not have access to modern technology and enable them to work in the 21st century. This brings the whole world to the students without them ever having to leave the classroom.
