Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine leaving everything you have ever known and coming to a new place where your are exposed to things that you had only ever read about. That is the challenge facing my students as they come to the United States and try to excel in our technology driven society.
Most of my students are immigrants seeing technology for the first time here in the United States.
Most of these students are excited to learn and excell in their new home. There are so many great products avaliable including our very own math cirriculum that offers additional digital resources, but due to budget cuts there is not enough technology to go around. For most of these students having a computer is a luxary, one that many of these students do not have.
My Project
I am requesting two ipad minis to help make a small inpact in allowing my students to get hands on technology exposure. This exposure will not only help the students while they run educational material on the ipad, inturn helping them excel in school, but it will also give them an advantage to work with tools that will more than likey be a regular stapel when they enter the working world.
These ipads will allow my students to get upclose and personal with the technology that they will be working with as they enter the work force and become valuable memebers of society.
