Our school has raised the money to purchase a Smartboard for my classroom. In order to utilize this technology, I need an Epson projector and Apple TV. I plan to present lessons that will actively engage my students in the learning process.
Our school is part of a one-unit, rural school situated on the banks of the Mississippi River.
I have a diverse population of students in my classroom - varying in backgrounds, abilities, and attention spans. I want to help my students become technologically savvy with the use of this Epson projector. I believe that this will help prepare them for a world of digital citizenship! We currently do not have a computer lab in our school and have limited access to computers and the Internet. This puts my students at a disadvantage with technology in comparison with other elementary classrooms.
My Project
With this Epson projector and Apple TV, I will be able to present interactive, engaging lessons. This will enable me to add multi-media presentations to my established curriculum. We will be able to watch videos of the life cycle of a monarch butterfly, as well as take virtual field trips to Mexico to see the overwintering sites. Students will be able to make classroom books come to life through sequencing, retelling, problem/solution, cause/effect, etc. Students will be able to work on phonics skills, vocabulary words, and math facts in a fun, engaging way!
Because of budget issues, we are encountering a lack of resources.
Our very active as much as they can, but or needs are greater than what they can do. Our technology is in dire need of updating so that our kids can be competitive in today's educational climate.
