My Students
I have not formally met my new group of students for this year, but I am excited! This group seems energetic and full of fun. Last year, they re-enacted famous figures in history through an interactive museum. They were wonderful and took pride in their learning. They knew about their person and showed true commitment in bringing that person to life. From that meeting, I know that we will have an excellent year. If I give them my best, I know they will give me their best.
My Project
Document cameras are an amazing classroom tool. They project student work, even if it is not digital, as well as other materials in the classroom. I want a document camera in my classroom for celebrating student success and helping students learn from one another. Imagine a student writing a beautiful introduction to a story. It contains everything we just discussed in the lesson. With permission from the student, I could show all other students his/her examples. Or imagine another student is struggling with their story, and they want to share it to get advice: the whole class could see it in an instant. I can see this helping to further build the amazing sense of community in our classroom. As a teacher, I can write right in front of my students. They could see my thought processes and corrections. It is more personal and real than just typing. I see endless possibilities for this device.
