My students need a video projector so I can show them videos and photos to help them make meaningful connections to the topics we are discussing in class.

My PreK3 students are some of the most amazing children I have ever met. They live in one of the most dangerous communities in our nation's capital and some have gone through more in their young lives then many of us will every have to endure in a lifetime. Every day they walk down a hill to school where they are able to escape the violence that riddles their neighborhood. Despite all of the challenges they face outside the school walls, they still come to school each day ready and excited to learn.
My 3 year olds thrive on the educational and enrichment opportunities being offered to them which helps them to build their background knowledge and expose them to things they otherwise wouldn't be exposed to.
Many of them would not have any opportunities to build their educational foundations if it wasn't for being enrolled in school.
This video projector and case will help make a different in my students' learning because they will be able to visually see pictures and videos of things in action that connect to the content we are learning in class. With this projector, I will be able to show them videos and pictures that are connected to their learning. For example, when we are working on our restaurant theme, I will be able to pull up a video and show them someone in the pizzeria tossing pizza dough. Or when we are in our pet vet theme, I can show them pictures of different pets they could own and take them on a virtual tour of a pet store so they can show for their pet.
This projector will help make the picture large enough so every student in the classroom can see things at once and not have to wait for their turn on to see it on the iPad.
Through being able to make these connections and build their background knowledge, students will increase their vocabulary and exposure to the real world outside of their community.
