This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach special education at a Title I, elementary-middle school in northeastern Baltimore. Our students come from all over the city, and bring with them a vast array of perspectives, skills, and dreams for their futures.
My students are some of the most joyful and enthusiastic learners you could imagine.
My students, all of whom have disabilities, have services ranging between an hour to ten hours a week outside of their general education classroom.
We are working to bridge the gap for our students, providing foundational skills to allow them to succeed in the general education classroom.
My Project
A multimedia projector is a vital part of any 21st century classroom. Unfortunately, this is one of the many resources that my students are lacking in their educational experience. A projector would allow me to integrate visual and audio media into my lessons to further engage my students and move them forward on the path to success.
My students need the use of a projector in order to maximize their engagement and make the classroom a visually stimulating environment.
For my students, all of whom have disabilities, the high-interest content that a projector would assist me in delivering is irreplaceable.
