This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I was recently assigned to my first school at the beginning of the school year. I now teach ESOL grades three through five, which means that I have to start from scratch when it comes to resources, materials and technology.
My students receive free and reduced lunch and fall under Title I funding.
Due to their parents economic status and the fact that they attend a Title I school where resources are limited, my ESOL students' love for learning is evident but exposure to other forms of technology outside of school is close to nonexistent.
My classroom, as a result, is in dire need of supplies, materials, and technology that would assist and enhance my students academically.
My Project
My students need one HD Projector with a projector screen and stand. This school year, "STEAMing Ahead!" is going to be the theme, as all students in ESOL and special area classes will be required to research a country, in terms of its Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math practices. My students would also be required to create an English-based project on a country of their choice. For this to be effective, they must be exposed to as many resources as possible.
Your support of this project would enhance our ESOL program as more children would be able to follow or read information, images, and research in English via a projector.
I can project information and images through PowerPoint presentations, the Internet and transparencies in a class setting. I hope that this can be accomplished with your assistance.
