My students are five and six year old precious children. They come to school excited and eager to learn everyday! I look forward to seeing their promising and hopeful smiles each morning. Many of my students are coming to school for the very first time when they enter my classroom. I feel tremendously blessed to give them their first real experience of school. I also feel it is my job to provide a warm environment as well as ignite the love of learning.
It is imperative that each student feels welcomed, safe and loved when they are in my classroom.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds; however, in our classroom we are one family. We encourage, laugh and support each other daily. I hope I make half the impact on them as they have made on me.
My Project
I am requesting a technology cart and book bins to help organize my materials and also allow my students the opportunity to utilize our promethean board and projector during stations. My students love reading along to poems and short stories. With the technology cart, students will be able to access the Elmo and display their work, talk about and “play teacher” with their peers. Children love to read stories that are projected and assist the teacher with finding new words, rhyming words, common word endings etc. If our Elmo and computer were better organized and at child level, my students would be able to access these learning tools independently during stations.
