My Project

My students are super special, in that their life experiences teach me something new every day. The majority of them come from low-socioeconomic households, and have experienced significant trauma, how low literacy abilities, and the pandemic exacerbated these problems.

And yet, they arrive at school each day, ready and excited to learn new things, in spite of all of that.

I believe it is my job to provide the best educational experience possible that makes them comfortable and fosters their desire to learn. Juggling differentiation along with student engagement is a challenge, but it is something I am very passionate about. One of the ways I try to bridge the gap is through Project-Based Learning and providing student choice. With these project supplies, students will be able to really dig deep, regardless of their current reading level, and fully grasp the content in an engaging way. Examples of some of the projects we have done (and will do) are the Age of Exploration Theme Park Project, the Renaissance Speed Mixer, One-Pagers, and Achievements Advertising Posters, to name a few.
