My Students

I believe reading is a valuable skill. I want to provide the environment, resources, and tools that will inspire my students to remain interested in reading for life.

I have a room full of enthusiastic readers.

They are caring, and love to share ideas with one another. My students belong to a small community here in Utah. They learn through reading that they are just one part of a large, diverse society. Books are windows to other cultures and opportunities. I want to inspire my students to read and understand themselves and others.

My Project

I'm hoping to provide them with a large variety of leveled books that will help strengthen their reading ability and confidence. The Leveled Book Set from Lakeshore Learning will create an organized head-start to a limited class library. Reading Phones from the same company will be the perfect tools for the students to practice hearing their success while reading books aloud and hear themselves read with expression.

Confidence is a key component to reading with comprehension.

Coupled with their enthusiasm that already exists, I hope to spark a life long love of reading. The supplies I'm asking for will assist in motivating my students to achieve their potential.
