Mrs. Brown from Baltimore MD is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a digital voice recorder to create podcasts in the library for a variety of projects, such as college and career research.

I am the school librarian in a public middle school in an outer urban area in Maryland. Additionally, I teach Technology Education to 6th graders.
My students are "Digital Natives," the generation that has never lived in a world without the World Wide Web or the Internet. They are enamored with Technology, but cannot utilize it for educational purposes. Additionally, many do not have computers at home so school is the only place where they have access to the world of technology.
Podcasting is all the rage! Students love hearing themselves speak and it is so empowering for them to think of themselves as "experts" on a subject. A podcasting project incorporates all the researching skills, but combats the possibility of plagiarizing text from Internet sources. Podcasting projects synthesize authentic learning and critical thinking with creative expression.
Your donation will help my students see the Internet as an educational vehicle rather than just a world wide video game. Cyberspace will become a home not just a playground for these digital natives. How cool is it to find yourself out there on the world wide web!
