This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Year after year, I'm blessed and lucky enough to teach and spend my day with the sweetest kiddos alive. I teach in a high-poverty, low-socioeconomic community in Southern Mississippi. Our teachers are the best and the kiddos are just so awesome.
Each day, they step off the bus, ready and so excited to learn.
In my classroom, I try to make learning as fun as possible, but we do not always have the supplies and materials that we need to succeed.
My Project
This project is all about getting outside and getting active. I want my kiddos to be happy and healthy and the research says that Mississippi kids are in desperate need of more active lifestyles.
My kiddos just love the outdoors and they really enjoy the playground.
I take them out for recess twice a day which really helps to keep them focused and engaged when we are learning indoors.
I want recess to be more exciting and an opportunity to build healthier, more active bodies. To do this we need some basic playground equipment. I am asking for hula hoops, jump ropes, skip it balls, a variety of playground and sport balls, and two bags to store all of our new equipment.
Imagine all the fun my kiddos will have, not even realizing that they are building healthier little bodies.
We are very excited about this project. Please consider a donation to help make us happy and healthy.
