My students need nutritional food. 97% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. This means that many of them only eat at school.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school feeds our students breakfast, lunch, and a snack. Many of them do not eat when they are not in school and may worry about when their next meal will be. When students are worried about eating they are not paying attention in class and learning what they need to learn.
80% of our students are Hispanic.
We are a public school in a very low economical area. We are located in North Charleston, SC. Our students are so happy to be at school and love to learn. They love their teachers and want to make us happy, which is why I want to give something back to them.
My Project
Our school is located in a high poverty area. 97% of our students come from low income families and struggle with hunger. They do not know when their next meal will come from. When they go home on Friday many of them will not eat again until breakfast at school on Monday. These resources will help our students by giving them something to eat over the weekend. We will be making small bags for a select number of students to take home over the weekend so they will not have to worry about eating when they are not at school.
My project is so important because children should never worry about eating.
They should be able to concentrate in class to their teacher and not their rumbling tummies. We don't want them worrying about food.
