This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classrooms are special because they are full of curious students. Children are naturally scientific and inquisitive. I want to continue to encourage that curiosity. When I introduced microscopes to my students I overheard my most detached student teaching and encouraging others to participate. He said, “I am a scientist and you can be too”. Giving my students access to scientific skills and relevant materials will make them be able to reach for higher goals. I want to make my students reach higher.
My Project
As I am looking for ways for my students to become 21st-century learners I need to become better. My students will be able to learn computer science. Computer science is an essential literacy skill that my students are lacking. It’s a skill needed to support the changes in the world, where my students need to be digitally able, literate, and competent in communication and understanding.
My students are the future and need to be successfully, and properly prepared.
I need to learn how to get them ready. I can read a book to attain the information, but to be fully immersed in the learning is the best way for myself and my students.
