This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are determined and eager to learn. Most of my students are English Language Learners who have a great outlook on life. However, many of them have major issues they are faced with daily.

My students are kind, respectful, and extremely engaged.

They truly deserve the best! They show up every morning ready to learn, and are excited about it. No matter what troubles they face at home they check them at the door and want to become someone bigger than their story.

My Project

Students learn best when given the chance to collaborate with there peers. By having a classroom with round tables it will give all students an opportunity to be actively engaged in small groups where they feel safe sharing their ideas.

The desks that they have now are to big to be placed in groups.

This takes away from the important sharing that needs to occur for students to work together to meet the rigorous demands of our state standards.

These desks will allow them to also utilize other spaces in the room as well. It would give us space to have a meeting area on the back floor.
