My students are low income/and or refugees from several countries around the world. They are motivated learners and surprise me often with their capabilities. They do not ask for anything and do not own much if any technology at home.
I do not want to be the barrier to their learning.
I have received multiple trainings recently on technology, but I do not have enough technology sources to be effective. I am looking for resources to help them be successful in school and in their future life!
My Project
Our district is moving in a new direction that includes a "Digital Backpack" of project based learning. I have chosen Chromebooks to help incorporate technology into our projects.
The students will be completing assignments and projects using Chromebooks.
Some of the projects include: videos, slide shows, PowerPoints, brochures, and Google docs.
Examples of the projects will include: Passion Project (a project about their passion as a career or hobby), our school "World Fest" project (a project about a country), and many social studies projects about government, history, economics, and geography. The students will select projects to put in their "Digital Backpack" for review at the end of 5th grade.
