I need help with funding to attend a teacher field trip training in San Diego this summer to support and increase my knowledge of project based learning, providing my students the best learning environment possible.
I am a pilot teacher for 1:1 ipads and get to share my learning with the district admin and teachers. Our classroom is tech-rich, but we still love play dough and markers. We love all types of learning tools.
We are a Kindergarten class in Andover, KS who love to learn and share our learning with other students and teachers.
We love learning all the fun and educational ways to use our technology and how it gives us a way to reach the world. I believe every student should be provided with a great, educated teacher who can't wait to provide them with everything education has to offer. I want to help every student believe and know they can make a difference in the world. I need to continue training to increase my skills sets to make sure I'm always offering my students the best education possible to ensure I give them my best to make them successful today and in their future.
My Project
I want to build my little students into creative, thoughtful, and energetic learners who can't wait to come to school to see what's next. I believe in building relationships with my students and building lesson content from their interests to help drive their passion for learning.
This training in San Diego will help increase my knowledge in project based learning to be better able to offer those great learning opportunities to my little learners.
On this trip we will see project based learning in action. We will visit Design 39 Campus and High Tech High where project based learning is integrated in everything they do. We also will get to tour and work with educators at San Diego Zoo Safari Park and San Diego Sea World. They will help us understand how project based learning will help our students down the road in real applications.
All this new learning and synthesis of knowledge will help me as I go back to my own classroom. I will have eager five and six year olds ready to help plan our our next learning experience. They will have a part in planning the project, setting the budget, purchasing the supplies, and carrying out their plan. I am excited to work with the wonderful teachers on this trip and can't wait for the learning that lies ahead.
