Our school may be small, but our students are mighty! I love to highlight success in my classroom in many different ways. One thing I really like is when they get to brag on their capabilities and successes.
My students reach for the stars.
I love to watch a big smile stretch across their face when they've done work they're proud of. I love to see their eyes glimmer when they surprise themselves with what they can do. I love to watch their eyebrows furrow and bob up and down when they're thinking through something. I love to listen to deep questions about life, the world, and situations. I love that my students think I'm a big nerd and want to be one too. It's important for kids to see that intelligence is a positive attribute and doesn't need to be hidden or hushed.
My Project
My students love technology! The Hue HD digital document camera with video functioning will allow my students to display their work to others in small and large group. The Singing Kids Microphone will help them with their speaking skills, as many of them struggle with their voice levels. This will help them self-monitor! Many of my students do come from low-income homes and love to experience the things they may not witness at home or a friend's home.
The students could use these tech tools to further their learning as they discuss academic accomplishments and work to problem solve.
With the markers, they can edit writings together , show how they solved or planned something, or create videos to justify how they arrived at a certain end goal.
The possibilities of tasks we could accomplish are endless!
