I am a third grade teacher in a high poverty/low-income school district. My students are eager to show growth in literacy and math this year! The last year and a half has been very difficult for them while navigating being a child, student, and sibling during this pandemic. Along with the pandemic these students are come from very difficult home environments.
Even with all they experience they come to school with kind hearts and motivated attitudes.
Because of the challenges they face I am looking for way to motivate and encourage them while they are in school. My students come to school each and every day ready to learn and do their absolute best and because of this I want to provide the best resources for them!
My Project
I am very excited to begin my 9th year of teaching and my first year at a new school! These items will help my students show growth in math and literacy during this school year. My students come from a low-income/ high-poverty area and I want to provide them with learning opportunities that can support them in growing and finding success this school year!
By having these materials my students will be able to utilize them when meeting with me in small group, participating in partner work with their peers, and working independently at the level they are at now.
This is my 5th year teaching third grade. We are in our second week of school and I'm quickly learning that my students are going to need a lot of support and resources in order to progress towards grade level proficiency. I really believe that everything I've included in this project will support the students as they work towards success this school year!
