Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have severe and profound disabilities that require adapted work activities. I serve a range of students with autism, multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments. All of my students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch, as well as related services like speech, occupational, and physical therapy.

My students are hands-on learners!

We work on all academic subject areas, including daily living and vocational skills. My students want to learn to be as independent as possible in their daily life.

My Project

The Botley Coding Robot bundles are a fun and engaging way to introduce coding to my special education students. I think that coding and computer science will highly interest my students, but we don’t have the materials in our classroom.

The Botley bundles will be an engaging activity that all my students will want a turn with.

A great feature about the Botley robots are they are screen free!

This feature will make this science activity much different than doing a simulation on an iPad or listening to a read-aloud story on the computer! I also love that my students will learn problem-solving and teamwork skills - building their social skills and science knowledge at the same time!
