My Students

I would like to use an iPod Touch in the classroom to help my English language learners develop fluency in speaking and reading. My students love to record themselves, but our technology has not kept up with their needs. Translation apps can also help our newest language learners.

My students are so eager to learn English.

They are highly motivated and love to record themselves. They also love technology. The iPod Touch will be a highly engaging way for them to improve all of their literacy skills. The iPod Touch strengthens listening skills and provides rehearsal for the writing process. The dictation apps offer opportunities for early second language learners to publish their writing.

My Project

This technology opens doors for ESL learners of all ages and levels. Students develop fluency through recording their ideas as podcasts, telling stories, or recording their books for others. Students love to hear themselves and their peers read and talk. Creating digital stories and projects is highly motivating for all students.
