My Project

My students are very interested in learning in a digital world. In the past, I started an eSports club with much deeper intentions than just playing video games. I would like to use the students' interest in gaming to develop professional skills.

My students need this computer to help teach coding, video editing, animation, computing skills, and much more.

Right now, my students only have access to devices that are either incapable of using complex programs or are extremely out of date. Students need access to computers that allow them to expand their curiosity and digital skills!

Full Story:

During the pandemic I wanted to give my students appropriate social interactions during a time the world was shut down. There were no sports, or afterschool clubs... except for mine. eSports was able to give my students a way to connect through a shared experience. I watched the live streams of my students playing a game they loved. I could hear them working together and encouraging each other. They cheered when they won and when they lost in the playoffs it was as real as being in a locker room after that final game when the good guys don't win.

Now that clubs and after-school events are starting to return my virtual club needs to evolve. This is where you come in. I want to take my students' interest in games and give them a safe and monitored space to play them; however, I want more than that. I want to use high-performance computers and their love of digital things to turn consumers into creators. I want my students to learn to code, explore animation creation, and use CAD and other 3D rendering programs. I want my students to develop skills and connections with their peers.
