My Students
Our video art class teaches teamwork, leadership, how to use creativity, flexibility, computer skills, graphic design, and more. Specifically, our video art course covers pre-production, writing, editing, on-camera acting, technical work, critical analysis, post-production editing, and presentation. Our past students have been amazing and have been producing quality programming for many years. Our school serves low income students who usually don't have any access to quality video production equipment, so we can use all the help we can get to acquire the equipment needed to provide a quality education.
My Project
Each student is required to master all the necessary live production jobs including Technical Directing on the Tricaster and NFHS graphics computer, Live Camera work in the studio and in the field, and more. Students will learn advanced camera techniques on up-to-date camcorders and DSLR's. This is why we are asking for the Canon DSLR. Many video production companies now use DSLR's instead of traditional video cameras to produce their content. The SSFHS Video Art class needs to provide training to students on these type of cameras.
Learning the skills and knowledge for creating, refining, and sharing work in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment industry sector promotes teamwork, communication, creative thinking, and decision-making abilities—traits that are necessary to function successfully in the competitive and media-rich twenty-first century.
