Every day, second grade children enter rooms full of learning opportunities. It is their time to learn and prepare for a future of service, success, and leadership. 2nd graders are building their social and emotional skills. Our future will be positively impacted by the social skills of our children. This generation needs to learn empathy, kindness, courage, tolerance, and so much more to face challenges. My students will grow and develop into wonderful adults with vital social skills to be successful in all areas of their lives. One way to encourage positive behavior is through incentives. Students need the opportunity to set goals, work hard, and be rewarded for their efforts.
My students are kind, loving, creative, curious, responsible, respectful and very professional second graders.
They come from various backgrounds, but together we have created a school family where everyone feels safe and loved. Our school works hard to provide a fun and positive learning environment where everyone contributes and belongs. We use a positive behavior systems where students can earn tokens to spend on fun incentives. The students enjoy coming to school, and the attendance percentage is high due to the positive environment.
My Project
Students work every day to earn tokens for positive behaviors. Social and emotional skills are vital for learning. Students need to be motivated and recognized when they behave in a positive way. These prizes provide incentives for the children to work for and earn. Children will have the opportunity to budget, save, and spend their tokens to earn the prizes and rewards they desire. These materials will support the reward system used in class while also teaching students financial literacy. They will learn how to save, budget, and spend in a safe and fun environment. Rewards will include tangible prizes along with fun activities and privileges.
